Presentation of the Bastia-Corsica 2028 bid to the National Assembly in Paris

One month before the bid was submitted, Bastia-Corsica 2028 organised a presentation at the National Assembly with the four Corsican deputies Laurent Marcangeli, Michel Castellani, Jean-Felix Acquaviva and Paul-André Colombani, as well as Pierre Savelli, mayor of Bastia and president of the Bastia-Corsica 2028 association, on 15 November 2022. This evening was followed by an informal dinner on 16 November 2022 at the Cyrnea space in a spirit of openness and sharing.

These gatherings are an opportunity to revisit the political relevance of Bastia-Corsica's candidacy, while highlighting the richness of its cultural heritage, which is only waiting to be (re)discovered by Europeans.

The presentation of Bastia-Corsica 2028 took place in the company of Gilles Simeoni (President of the Executive Council of Corsica), Marie-Antoinette Maupertuis (President of the Assembly of Corsica), Pierre Savelli (Mayor of Bastia and President of the Association) and Dominique Federici (President of the Università di Corsica), as well as numerous representatives of the institutional, artistic and cultural world of Corsica and friends of Corsica who were invited to attend. In addition to the many MPs present, Paolo Petiziol, President of the Gect Go Ezts Go in charge of organising the activities of the GO! 2025 Nova Gorica - Gorizia (Gorizia-Nova Gorica European Capital of Culture 2025) made the special trip from Italy to support Bastia-Corsica 2028. Among the supporters were the academician Jean-Marie Rouart, Olivier Mantei, director of the Philarmonie de Paris as well as Charles-Henri Filippi, president of the committee of patrons.
