Artistic creation is a matrix for rethinking our relationship with the world: it proposes interpretations, bears witness to its evolutions and tensions and helps us to think about the future.
The candidacy is an opportunity to encourage creation in all its forms in order to reflect the richness and specificity of Corsica, its culture and its history, to strengthen its contribution to European cultural creation, in a sustained dialogue with the Mediterranean, particularly with its islands but also with other European territories, by imagining artistic projects designed for this candidacy.
Bastia-Corsica 2028 is an invitation to immerse oneself in the cultural substrata of Corsica by sublimating them while proposing an encounter, friction and crossbreeding with the elsewhere, with the great questions of society in the contemporary world, through the prism of artistic encounters with creators and authors from other European territories, from the western Mediterranean and beyond.
What images should be revealed to embody the application? What imaginary images should be used to weave the threads of the artistic journey? The embodiment of the bid will depend on Bastia Corsica 2028's ability to build a narrative that capitalises on the richness and relevance of the stories to be told.
Writer, born in Bastia and living between Paris and Corsica, Laure Limongi has published a dozen books including Ton cœur a la forme d'une île (Grasset, 2021). She regularly gives lectures on the world of her books. She has been a publisher for fifteen years, creating and directing the "&" collections at Al Dante (2001-2003) and then "Laureli" at Léo Scheer (2006-2012) - some sixty books published. Currently a professor of creative writing at the École nationale supérieure d'arts de Paris-Cergy (ENSAPC), she co-directed the Master's degree in Literary Creation at Le Havre (ESADHaR-University of Le Havre) for six years. At the same time, she was an administrator of the Société des gens de lettres for two terms, and co-founded the Prix du roman d'écologie in 2018. In Corsica, she is notably part of Providenza (Pieve) and Arte Mare (Bastia).
Marie Ferranti published her first novel in 1995, entitled 'Les Femmes de San Stefano', for which she won the François Mauriac prize. Encouraged by this success, she continued her literary career and wrote several novels, often inspired by her native Corsica, such as 'La Fuite aux Agriates', 'La Chasse de nuit' or 'La Cadillac des Montadori'. Marie Ferranti's classical and pure style was rewarded for a second time in 2002 for 'La Princesse de Mantoue'.
